FAQ'S

How long are your art therapy sessions?

Sessions are one hour. This is slightly longer than a typical counselling session (usually 50 minutes) due to the set-up time involved with art making materials. Occasionally, we may arrange to have 90 minutes sessions, with the fee adjusted accordingly.

Do I need to have art skills to do art therapy?

No previous art experience is required!

The art invitations I give my clients can easily be altered to match your level of artistic abilities… all that is really needed is a willingness to playfully engage with the supplies and see what comes up!

Do I need to bring my own art-making materials?

If we are meeting in my office, I'll provide the materials you use in our sessions.

If we are meeting online, you will provide your own art materials; the supplies we work with don’t need to be fancy, and clients often find they already have the art materials they would like to use.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children aged 10 and up, and with teenagers, young adults, and beyond… art therapy is for any age!

What do your sessions cost? Are sessions covered by health benefit plans?

I use a sliding scale for fees that ranges from $120 - $150 per session, based on your family’s household income as well as the number of people in your household. We will discuss where you fall within the fee grid to decide what will be charged for your sessions. However – if these fees are prohibitive and will make it difficult for you to access my services, please talk to me about this, as I reserve some reduced-rate spots for those who otherwise would not be able to access counselling services.

If you are wanting your sessions to be covered by your insurance plan, I suggest you check with them in advance to make sure they will reimburse you. I do not offer direct billing at this time.
